Hello, kittens. I wrote this song about The Gauntlet for my band, The Halloween Tree.

You can listen to it here: http://www.myspace.com/thehalloweentree.

It's entitled "Hush." Let me know what you think. :]

Is There Such a Thing as a "Haunt Addiction"? [04 Oct 2004|12:18pm]

I went on the Haunt on Saturday, and even though I just went and should be completely happy with that, I'm not.

Damnit, I want more! (lol) I spent my entire sunday watching the "Season of Screams" dvd and plotting a way to go back to haunt. Something about it.. the fog.. the monsters.. the screaming... I simply cannot get enough of it.

So it begs the question: Am I addicted to haunt? Is this normal?

And how many times have you all gone? Who has gone the most?

Hi! No one has posted in here forever. I've never worked Haunt and I have no desire to in the future. I'm in a band called The Halloween Tree that writes songs about Halloween and I'm actually in the process of composing a song inspired somewhat by the Haunt. I love Haunt for reasons that will sound super cheesy and retarded if I say them aloud. That's basically it. Too bad this community isn't more active. :[

my boring introduction [15 Aug 2004|03:26pm]

Hello everybody,

I stumbled across this community just recently.
I worked Halloween Haunt from 1997-2002. My first year I was in Camp Snoopy and I worked my next 5 years in Warehouse P as a make-up artist... I also worked one year doing scenic painting. I don't know if I know anybody in this community so far... but hopefully!

It sounds like they had a new maze this year. I think its a funny coincidence. I have sketches and maps drawn for a maze I always wanted to do, and it was called the Asylum. I even have sketches for makeup designs. Its kind of funny yet sad that the second year I don't work there either in scenic, or makeup, or monster making - they do a maze like the one I always wanted to do. It kind of makes me sad - I would have had so much fun working on it! Those of you who are able to, send me pictures so I can share in the excitement from all the way over here in the midwest.

Well I hope all of you are gearing up for a great year... I also hope you take advantage of this community when things get rolling. (those of us not able to work haunt anymore would appreciate it. ;) )

-Jamie

Hi everybody. This is m first year working haubt. I'm doing construction though so I was able to go to rehire instead of new hire. I'm going to be a Doctor in the Asylum, and my girlfriends going to be a nurse. Is anyone else working in the Asylum this year?

~ Well this upcoming Haunt will be my 3rd year working Halloween Haunt. 1st year I was in C3, quit an interesting first year. I began as a wall guy, ended up a clown. Second year I was in Blood Bayou with one of the best/closest friend of mine. It was an awsome fun year. Can't forget the lovely Conga Line we had in that maze last year. That was really fun. This year I don't know where I'll end up...who knows. See you guys this Haunt, peace out!

Jeff

Hey everyone, my name's Amy and I just joined your nifty community here. I'm going back to work my second year of Haunt this year.. first day rehire.. rock on. I'm irritating a lot of people by using my first day rehire to reclaim my place at the Calico Mine Ride, but I had an excellent spot, so it's not as lame as it sounds. I wasn't tethered to the interior of the ride like the majority of my co-monsters. I was working the exit tunnel and the midway directly outside the ride. The ride sucks so bad, no one expects there to be anyone lurking under the unload dock, hehe. I'm almost 100% sure that's where I'm going this year. I hope everyone gets what they want next week.. good luck!

Since there isn't much going on here I figured I'd drop in and say hello, then try to recruit a few peeps to try wake this place up a bit =P

Anycrap, I worked my first year of Haunt last October in Blood Bayou. Before that, I'd gone pretty much every year since I was 6 so I guess I can kinda be lumped in the group as an "ultimate" Haunt fan.

Sadly, I won't be able to return to the Scary Farm this year to work and I'm REALLY gonna miss it :( But! I plan on visiting as much as can be afforded to fill the void, heh.

But yes...good luck with rehire next week (for those who haven't gone already)...hope you all get what you want ;)

Damn it!!! [02 Jul 2004|03:13pm]

Ok, towards the end of last year while working in the Asylum, I got c-filed because one of my go workers told Vanessa that I strangled her and tried to kill her. Which was a flat out lie, because she hated me ever since 2 years ago when we worked in Alien. But anyways, I heard from this girl named Brettney that there are some people that have gotten c-filed, some of them more than once, and still have never missed a year of haunt. Does anyone out there have any suggestions to help a fellow monster out? Please. I'm desperate to go back to haunt this year I keep having those "haunt withdrawls" everyday.

I think I might be making a few enemies here (as if that hasn't already happened, ha ha ha), but I'm going to have to vote for The Underground as being a smidgin long in the tooth.

Let me just state for the record that the monsters in that maze are terrific, and extremely enthusiastic and loyal to their maze. They love it. There's a lot to love about it.

But.

If you include all the Haunts that had a "post-apocalyptic" theme (even with different names), that thing's been around over 10 years! Time for a fresh idea. "The Inquisition" might fall under this category, too.

And the "Army of the Underworld" (or whatever they're calling the mine ride nowadays) is just pathetic. Yeah, I know it gets a (relatively) smaller budget. Yeah, I know it's staffed with funewgees. But, after 30 years, we can do better.

Love Clowns. Love Malice. Love Spiders. Love (what I've heard about) Asylum and Hatchet High. Love Bayou. Love GTS. Love CS. Love The Swamp. Love Red Moon. Love The Hanging. Love Putz. Did I leave anybody out?

Well, let's get this party started. What does everybody hope to see at Haunt in 2004? Any new maze ideas, things you would like to see come back...etc. Also, What would you like to NOT see in 2004?

Well. I was at the first Haunt in 1973, and I'm also the first poster here.

Sweet.

Hope all of my Haunt buddies will join us soon on here, or else this is gonna be one lonely cobwebbed corner of cyberspace.
